Due to staff annual leave we are down one pair of hands until 29th July. Thank you for your patience!

The advance copies of our Summer Selections have almost all arrived in our office! We hope you're all eagerly anticipating your mail-outs, which should be with you midway through next month. Our full members will be receiving Vahni Capildeo's Venus as a Bear, our Summer Choice. In the upcoming edition of the PBS Bulletin, our selectors praise the poet's 'characteristic verbal and intellectual voracity'. Venus as a Bear might be described as a curio - it is an intriguing, eclectic collection deftly moving from subject to subject.
Charter members will be receiving our Summer Recommendations, which are Faisal Mohyuddin's The Displaced Children of Displaced ChildrenTishani Doshi's Girls Are Coming Out of the Woods, Alice Miller's Nowhere Nearer and Loretta Collins Klobah's Ricantations. Translation members will receive is All Under One Roof by Evelyn Schlag, translated by Karen Leeder.
The Bulletin also features write-ups on a wide range of further selections. These include two Special Commendations - The Wound by John Kinsella and Return of the Gift by Michael O'Neill. Our Summer Pamphlet it Mary Jean Chan's Hurry of English. Anthony Anaxagorou selects Wild Card Isn't Forever by Amy Key, and Sam Buchan-Watts selects our student prize winners, whose poems are also included. In short, this issue is packed full of a wonderful and diverse range of poetry, and we hope you enjoy reading through the selections!
