Julie Laing is a writer and artist from Glasgow. Her first collection of visual poetry, some possible endings & beginnings, was published in 2026 with Art Riot Press and her debut pamphlet, the edge of rhizome, came out with Red Squirrel Press in 2025. She has been widely published and won the 2023 William Bonar Poetry Prize and The Wigtown Poetry Prize 2022. Her poem ‘livestream, hope street’ was selected as one of Scottish Poetry Library’s Best Scottish Poems 2022. Julie has delivered sessions and readings at StAnza International Poetry Festival, Push the Boat Out and Edinburgh Photographic Society. She co-hosts off-page visual poetry programme and exhibitions.
