Aidan Mathews is a poet, playwright and fiction writer. He has published verse collections with The Dolmen Press, the Gallery Press, and Jonathan Cape. He won the Patrick Kavanagh Award in 1976; an Academy of American Poets Award in 1982; Italy's Cavour Prize in 1996, and the Arts Council Literature Award in 2006. His most recent work includes Charlie Chaplin's Wishbone (stories) and Fasting and Feasting: Radio Reflections on Christmas and Easter (essays).
