EMILY KEELING

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Emily Keeling is the Managing Director of Inpress Books and The Poetry Book Society. The longest-serving member of staff, she has over a decade of experience with Inpress and a deep understanding of its operations. Previously Finance Manager, Emily played a key role in shaping financial strategy and developing digital publishing services. She studied English Literature with French at Newcastle University and is passionate about supporting independent publishers and championing bold, distinctive literary voices.

ALICE KATE MULLEN

PBS MANAGER

Alice Kate Mullen is Manager of the Poetry Book Society. She designs and produces the quarterly Bulletin magazine in-house, runs the PBS marketing campaigns and events programme. She’s worked in poetry publishing since 2010, including at Carcanet Press and PN Review. Prior to that she worked in bookselling and events at Waterstones, Shakespeare & Company in Paris, on a Chicago Poetry Foundation mentorship and as a Sydney Writers’ Festival Bibliotherapist. She co-founded the Northern Poetry Symposium in 2017, co-programmes Newcastle Poetry Festival and sits on the Poetry Translation Centre advisory board. She was recently selected as an India-UK British Council International Publishing Fellow and represented UK poetry at Bhutan Book Festival and a Beijing Poetry Festival.

ELLEN WELSH

SALES AND MARKETING ASSISTANT

Ellen Welsh is Sales & Marketing Assistant (part-time) at the Poetry Book Society, assisting with all things marketing and overseeing our day-to-day operations. She has a background in bookselling, working for Collected Books in Durham and Waterstones prior to her role here. Ellen holds an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University, and is currently working on the manuscript of her first novel.

MEGAN ROBSON

FINANCE EXECUTIVE

Megan is all about making sure things add up here at Inpress and the Poetry Book Society. As well as overseeing finance, she is the face of our weekly books roundup, Meg's Monday Muse, and supports Inpress publishers with eBooks. Megan also writes poetry under the name Megan Pattie. Her publications are Tracts (The Black Light Engine Room, 2021) and Bertha Comes Down (Broken Sleep Books, 2026).

ANNE NOLAN

Anne Nolan is Managing Publisher for Reading-based Two Rivers Press, publishing poetry, local interest and art & nature titles. She has wide books and publishing experience, having spent 3 years as a bookseller, 25 years in academic book publishing in marketing, sales, and production editorial roles, and 5 years working freelance and as a consultant with a special (and growing!) interest in small press publishing.

JOANNA REYNOLDS

CHAIR OF THE BOARD

Joanna Reynolds is CEO of Folio Books, having had a long career in publishing with Which?, Reader’s Digest and Time Warner.

Azad Sharma

The 87 Press

Azad Ashim Sharma is the director of the87press and serves as poetry editor at Philosophy and Global Affairs and the CLR James Journal; he is also the commissioning editor of The Hythe Review. He is a PhD Candidate in English and Humanities at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is the author of three poetry collections, most recently, Boiled Owls (Nightboat Books / Out-Spoken Press, 2024) which was shortlisted for the Jhalak Poetry Prize. His second collection Ergastulum: Vignettes of Lost Time (Broken Sleep Books, 2022) was the recipient of the Caribbean Philosophical Association’s Nicolás Cristóbal Guillén Batista Outstanding Book Award. In July 2025, Azad was inaugurated as the Poet Laureate of the Caribbean Philosophical Association. He lives in South London and is currently working on a novel and his fourth collection of poetry.
