Here's a sneak preview extract from Marvin Thompson's exclusive interview in the PBS Spring 2020 Bulletin.
"I feel oddly compelled to explain why I choose Road Trip as the title for my debut poetry collection. The fact is, I am incapable of writing a sequence of poems without a car journey being involved in the narrative. Yes, I’ve turned a strange inadequacy into a structural conceit! Outings to Southend on Sea or south London to see cousins and aunties were the source of much childhood joy. My fictional journeys tap into these boyhood pleasures."
