Before we begin sharing our Spring 2026 Selections, we wanted to close out the Winter Selections by sharing our pamphlet choice: I Could Not Ask You To by Helena Fornells Nadal (Mouse Press).
I Could Not Ask You To explores transformation, migration, place, precarity, and capitalism. Our Selectors Yousif M. Qasmiyeh and Alycia Pirmohamed called it "a complex and searching pamphlet, filled with poems held taut by the poet's charismatic and unique voice ... we find ourselves at multiple thresholds, crossing temporally and geographically with the speaker, as she undergoes seemingly irrevocable change, unable to tread back to what was."
Helena Fornells Nadal is a Catalan poet based in Edinburgh. She is currently engaged in research on the intersection between land politics and ecopoetics.
