MEET WILL ALEXANDER

"My inspiration for Refractive Africa remains a non-didactic, internal verbal
eruption. Not a verbal eruption restricted to topical events but concerned
with the continent. A protracted historical struggle as it has occurred, not only
within the palpable recollection of our prior century, but of Africa perceived as
a historical deficit to be exploited. The latter stretches back to initial Portuguese
entry into Africa in the 14th century."

Will Alexander is a critically acclaimed, LA-based poet, philosopher and visual artist. He has won a Whiting Fellowship for Poetry, a California Arts Council Fellowship, and a 2016 Jackson Poetry Prize. He has published numerous collections with various publishers in the US. Refractive Africa will be his first UK publication.
