Up till now he has published fourteen volumes of poetry. In 2011 he received the Herman de Coninck Award for his poetry collection \u003ci\u003eStudy of the shadow\u003c\/i\u003e. In 2019 his twelfth volume \u003ci\u003eThe singing of the world \u003c\/i\u003ewas translated into Afrikaans by Daniel Hugo. From 1994 to 2000 his poems were translated into English by James Brockway and published in numerous British literary magazines including \u003ci\u003eThe London Magazine\u003c\/i\u003e.
