Parkinson's Poems by Frank Ormsby
Pamphlet Choice Winter Bulletin 2016
PBS Pamphlet Choice - Winter 2016
Frank Ormsby was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2011. He found himself reading widely, watching documentaries and talking to people on the subject. ‘Eventually this absorption began to generate poems. In writing them I felt little inclination towards the morose, the lachrymose, the sentimental or the elegiac. The up-beat strain in me made the subject robustly its own.’ The result is a sequence of poems, tough, honest, funny and moving.
