Since its founding on Bute, in Spring 2005, Templar Poetry has become one of the leading independent poetry publishers in the British Isles, and the growing list of Templar authors represent some of the very best modern poetry being written and read at spoken word events today. The Straid Poetry Awards aim to extend this list by publishing and supporting both established and new authors offering excellent poetry collections. We will be looking for innovative, imaginative, well formed, sustained and superbly written submissions with powerful voices. We also hope the preoccupations within the submissions demonstrate the potential to attract new readers and audiences.
