John Stammers' new Poetry Discussion Group at the Poetry School focuses on the work of poets in this anthology. Through lively and wide-ranging discussion, students will also look at poets of the period who weren't in the book, for comparison and to provide a wider context. You'll discuss such issues as whether there are trends that can be discerned; whether there are styles or forms that are predominant; and if there are any commonly recurring themes or concerns that might be mapped onto wider social or cultural currents. Lovely literary to-and-fro and genial company as the winter settles in.
