Aurum is a private investment management firm that was founded on the philosophy of capital preservation, growth and transfer of wealth. Aurum aims to achieve this by managing assets in a thoughtful and stable manner. Founded with its own capital 17 years ago, Aurum has grown to currently manage over £1.5bn. The firm's long term investors include high net worth individuals, family offices, charities, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds.
Aurum's ethos applies not only to investment management, but permeates throughout all of its activities, reflected in the firm's attitude to risk, relationship with clients and staff, and to the support Aurum gives to a range of charities and worthy causes.
Mrs Valerie Eliot, who has generously donated the prize money since the inception of the Prize, presents the winner and runners-up with their cheques and the Prize receives further key support from the Eliot Trustees.
The PBS is particularly gratified to have attracted serious support from the financial sector for the Prize and believes that this may be the first time poetry has attracted this kind of backing, showing the growing importance and visibility of the T S Eliot Prize.
