The Larkin Trail has opened in Hull, beginning at the Royal Hotel, one of Philip Larkin's favourite city centre haunts.
The honours were performed by Jean Hartley, his first publisher, who first met the poet in Hull in 1955. She is pictured with Graham Chesters, Chairman of Larkin25
The Larkin Trail stretches across the centre of Hull, through suburbs and villages along the Humber estuary, and features 25 signs taking visitors on a tour of sites that were significant to the writer, linking different aspects of his life and work to a place and locality.
