Under the hammer...
The PBS's donation of all 10 books on the T S Eliot Prize 2007 shortlist, signed by the poets, raised £200 at PEN's charity auction on November 26th. Nearly £7,000 was raised from this and other donated gifts. In addition, takings from the quiz and other activities took that total to nearly £45,000. The PBS is delighted that it was able to help PEN raise funds for their important work protecting writers and free speech. The T S Eliot Prize 2007 - Shortlist Announced
After much debate and reading nearly 100 books of poetry, the judges of this year's T S Eliot Prize have finalised the shortlist. Chair of the judges Peter Porter said of the poetry collections submitted for the 2007 Prize: ‘This year’s entries are brilliant. They exhibit the impressive diversity of contemporary poetry, and show not only a strong younger generation of writers but also the new heights achieved by established poets.’
